Moreh, February 18 2014 :
As decided by the community leaders in the border town, volunteers of several influential civil society organisations based in Moreh have sealed the border with Myanmar along with shut down of all the shops from this evening as the Indian and Myanmarese authorities have failed to provide any information on the whereabouts of two Punjabis who went missing after they entered Tamu Town of Myanmar to sell school uniforms and other accessories.
Sanvendar Singh (30) alias Jacky and Daljeet Singh (33) have reportedly entered Tamu town after getting the necessary border passes from the Myanmarese Immigration Check Post at Gate No.2 on February 11 in connection with their usual business of selling school uniforms and other accessories .
However, their whereabouts have not known since then.
In this regard, a joint meeting of the community leaders had been held and submitted memorandum to all concerned including the DC of Tamu Town giving deadline for giving information on the whereabouts of the two missing men by 3 pm today.
However, as no response has been received, border with Myanmar at Moreh has been sealed.
