4th edition of 'Pandam' released

Imphal, February 18 2013 :
The 4th edition of 'Pandam', the monthly magazine published in Meetei Mayek, was released during a function at the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) at Moirangkhom here today.
Speaking on the occasion as Chief Guest, W Rajesh, Director of DIPR, stated that the people of the State never expected that Meetei Mayek would revive and popularise at this rate.
But today, Meetei Mayek has gradually taken over Bengali script in just a span of 30 years.
This is definitely a big development and a dream come true for the people of the State.
He further stated that the present status of Meetei Mayek has been made possible on account of the hard work and dedication of Chingsubam Akaba who sacrificed his life for the cause of revival and popularization of Meetei Mayek.
Namoijam Tomba, who was also present on the occasion, said that this is the fourth edition of 'Pandam' and the first edition released after acquiring RNI number.
The edition of 'Pandam' would also be published in Jiribam and Bangladesh shortly.
Presided over by former Minister RV Mingthing, the function was also attended by Elangbam Dinamani, President of Manipuri Sahitya Parishad as Guest of Honour.
Ketuki, ZEO, Jiribam was also present on the occasion.
