Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM), a constituent of the Students' Wing of Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System, has parted company with the JC on Monday and launched a 'Reconsolidation Campaign for Implementation of ILPS' .
Briefing the media here, DESAM president Moirangthem Angamba told the reporters that DESAM, with organisations which have the same aim and objective, has now launched a 'Reconsolidation Campaign for Implementation of ILPS' to intensify the ongoing public demand of ILPS in Manipur.

As a part of the agitation, public discussions at various places will start soon, said Angamba by further adding that a People's Convention will also be followed to make people participated together under a single objective.
Recalling on the unwanted incident happened, Angamba alleged that around 50/60 volunteers of the Students' Wing of JCILPS picked up two volunteers of DESAM, namely Elangbam Musuk and Nepram Ronil and later released at late night after they were being beaten up black and blue.
Angamba further recalled that DESAM's Imphal West volunteer Ashok Kumar was also beaten up before by volunteers of the Students' Wing.
All these acts are a ploy to defame DESAM and other like-minded organisations, added Angamba.
Spreading rumour on DESAM being sided with the Govt and acted against the Manipuri people are nothing but a secret ploy by some vested organizations to undermine the public demand of ILPS and also to tarnish the alliance, he said.
DESAM has contributed its best to the ongoing agitation, said Angamba.
Since the beginning, DESAM has been a part of the movement and that volunteers of the alliance are also taking part in the ongoing hunger strike, added Angamba.
M Angamba who was the convener of the Students' Wing was removed from his post without giving prior information, DESAM further alleged.
