NE Development Initiatives Photo Exhibition kicks-off

A five-day long photo exhibition on 'Development Initiatives in North East' was set into motion in an impressive function today at Moirang Multipurpose Higher Secondary School in Bishnupur District of Manipur.
The exhibition organized by Directorate of Advertising & Visual Publicity (DAVP), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Govt of India, Imphal with the help of MM Hr Sec School Authority was attended by a jampacked audience, which includes Govt officials, invitees and large number of students.
Opening the exhibition , Chief Guest of the occasion, S Naba Singh, MCS, Executive Director, DRDA/Bishnupur states that 'it is very encouraging venture of the DAVP, Ministry of I & B, Govt of India displaying photo exhibition depicting the program & progress of the states of India' .
A collection of 122 photographs covering the whole of North East is being displayed for the public till Aug 20 with 16 photographs relating to developmental activities of Bishnupur District, Manipur.
Inspired by the collection of photos, B Profullo Sharma, Lecturer, Moirang Multipurpose Hr Secondary School notes that 'this photo exhibition will give awareness and information to the students and visitors'.
True to the occasion, the photo exhibition gives lots of 'information' for Y Anand Singh, while it's a 'knowledge' bank for A Guneshwor, both students of Moirang Multipurpose Hr Secondary School.
Welcoming the photo exhibition, Dr Priyadarshini Gangte, a visitor from Imphal, however feels that 'this kind of activities should be held in remote places too' .
Earlier, explaining the purpose of the exhibition, Gin Gangte, IIS, Field Exhibition Officer, DAVP, Imphal says that the program is being organized to disseminate information about the pace of various developmental projects undertaken by the Govt of India in the North East.
Giving reasons for photos on life & culture of the people, Gangte says that the main objective of such vast collection of photos is to promote national integration.
He also appealed to the public to visit the exhibition on any of the five-day long program so as to have a better understanding of developmental initiatives taken up by the Govt of India for the people.
The program was attended by S Kumar Singh, Principal, Moirang Multipurpose Hr Secondary School as Functional President.
