Go to village mission to ensure effective implementation of Govt schemes, says Th Biswajit

As part of the State Government's ongoing "Khungang Chatse/Go to the Village" mission, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Thongam Biswajit Singh, inspected the stalls set up by various Government Departments at Panthoibi community hall, Kongba Kshetri Leikai today.
Speaking to media persons, Biswajit said that the initiative is to check and ensure that the benefits of the pro-poor schemes of both the Central and the State Govts are delivered at the doorstep of the intended beneficiaries.
The mission is also aimed at communicating and educating the people regarding the benefits of the various schemes.
Altogether 26 stalls were opened to ensure that benefits of the Govt schemes reach the doorsteps of the intended beneficiaries of Loumanbi, Takhok Mapan Awang, Ucheckon Khunou and Uchekon Kshetri Leikai under Ucheckon Nongpok Gram Panchayat in Thongju Assembly Constituency.
The stalls included that of Social Welfare Department, Health Directorate, Power, Education Department, Revenue Department, bank etc.
Services provided at the stalls included Aadhaar Seeding, pension schemes, SAUBHAGYA, Weaver card/Artisan card, etc.
The mission in the Gram Panchayat is organised by the Imphal East District Administration.
Biswajit handed cheques amounting to Rs 20,000 each to five artisans (State Awardees) selected under the Modernisation of Outstanding Craftsperson scheme of the Handloom and Textiles Directorate.
He also handed out pensions to seven differently abled persons under pension schemes of the Social Welfare Department.
UJWALA scheme were also provided with gas connections to the local beneficiaries.
