Village security meet at Kamtong to create awareness amongst the locals

Imphal, March 14 2021:
Chassad Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a village security meet at Kamtong on yesterday.
The meet was organised in the view of current escalating security situation in Myanmar and its implications for the border villages of Manipur.
Village headmen and village authorities of Kangpat cluster of villages, Skipe and Kamtong villages attended the meet.
It has been conveyed to the authorities that the role of village headman is critical for establishing peace in the stability in the area and guiding the locals against any illegal and smuggling activities in the area.
The village members were specifically made aware of the present situation in Myanmar and were asked to convey the message to all the villagers to report immediately if any Myanmar locals try to infiltrate into Indian villages for taking refuge.
The village authorities requested for Solar lamps since the area is facing severe shortage of electricity and levelling of community ground was also requested.
