Assam Rifles saves snake bite victims

Imphal, June 13 2012:
Troops of 30 Assam Rifles, saved life of a civilian called Arambam Diren (28) a resident of Tangkham village, Imphal East.
The individual was bitten by a venomous snake on June 13 and was evacuated to MI Room of 30 Assam Rifles, Mantripukhri where he was given first aid.
Now, the individual is in stable condition and is under continuous observation, stated a press release of PRO IGAR (S) .
On the other hand, 27 Assam Rifles organised a lecture on "First Aid for Snake Bite Victim" at Jugin Memorial English School on June 12 for the school students at Waikhong, Thoubal District.
The lecture was conducted by the Regimental Medical Team and personnel of 27 Assam Rifles with an aim to acquaint the students with the various measures to be taken as a part of First Aid to the Snake Bite Victim.
A movie with a social theme of National Integration was also screened after the lecture for the students.
A total of 38 students and 5 teachers attended the programme.
The students took keen interest in the lecture and asked various questions pertaining to the management of patient after Snake Bite.
The faculty of Jugin Memorial English School, Waikhong conveyed their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to 27 Assam Rifles for providing such an opportunity to the students, it further added.
