ATSUM gives go ahead signal to tribal students to get admitted to MU

While acknowledging solidarity and constant support of the tribal populace and likeminded individuals of the State to the movement of asserting Constitutional tribal rights pertaining to reservation in admission at Manipur University during, the All Tribal Students' Union, Manipur (ATSUM) has appealed to all the tribal students who have been selected for admission at various PG courses at MU to get admission with immediate effect till November 16 as the reservation impasse has been brought to understanding through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between MU authority represented by Vice Chancellor and Registrar i/c and five students' organization of the State namely ATSUM, DESAM, KSO-GHQ, ANSAM and MUTSU on November 7 based on the Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Admission) Act 2006 as amended in 2012 and the orders of the High Court of Manipur passed on October 26 this year.
Reiterating their stand to implement the Constitutional Act, ATSUM in a statement asked the Manipur University authorities to uphold the sanctity and integrity of the University by immediately rectifying the October 8 resolution of the Academic Council.
