PRPC alleges threat

The People Rights Protection Committee, Keirao Makting, Imphal East has urged the Government to punish the people who allegedly launche a murder attempt on RTI activist, Nazima.
The incident occurred on September 11 at around 5.30 pm.
The RTI activist was returning home from her chamber ay Khoyathong Polem Leikai, when she was stopped on the road in front of Urup High School by the accused persons.
By the time the police got there, the accused persons had already fled.
Md Khalil, allegedly identified as the person who led the murder threat, had bought along a group of 20-30 people armed with guns and other weapons, said committee secretary MD Wahidur Rahaman.
He also alleged that the threat was carried out as a response to the refusal of their demand to withdraw an RTI application in Keirao Makting Gram Panchayat, Imphal East.
Speaking to media persons today, the committee strongly condemned the action and asked the Government to punish the people involved in the blatant threat according to law.
