AR organises Cancer Detection Camp in Chandel

Imphal, August 10 2011:
To commensurate the World Breast Feeding Week, the 42 Assam Rifles of 26 sector under the aegis of IGAR (S) in collaboration with District Hospital, Chandel and Babina diagnostic Centre, Imphal, organised a cancer detection camp at Unit Hospital of the 42 AR post today.
The Camp was organised keeping in view of increasing number of cervical and breast cancer in female population and to raise awareness among them.
Information Brochure on basis of Cervical Cancer and breast cancer was also distributed.
The medical team consisting of RMO 42 Assam Rifles, Dr N Nabakishore CMO Chandel, Dr M Nomita General Manager of Babina Diagnostic Centre, Imphal, Mr Chanu Kumar and Para medical Staff of Babina Diagnostic Centre and 42 Assam Rifles attended the camp.
Pap smear and breast cancer screening was done for approximately 100 females.
Assam Rifles Authority on the occasion assured the locals of their continued help and frequent medical camp in future to ensure good health of the region.
Doctors also briefed the ladies about the cause of various cancer and highlighted the precautionary measure to be undertaken.
