Thangso Baite underlines necessity of cooperation in Model village

Lok Sabha MP, Thangso Baite stated that the concept of Model village will be successful only when different departments accept their responsibilities and conduct their duty with commitment.
This was said during the Empowered Committee Meeting for finalizing of Village Development Plan (VDP), held at CC Hall, Motbung village under Saitu-Gamphazol Sub- Division in Kangpokpi district.
Motbung village has been adopted as a model village by MP, Thangso Baite under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY), which is an initiative of the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.
"Villagers should be mentally prepared as their village will be considered as a model by their neighbouring villages.
They should be modernized in their thinking, education, behaviour and activities", Baite added.
He urged the Deputy Commissioner, ADC/ADM, SDOs, BDOs and DLOs to sit together frequently and deliberate on carrying out the necessary actions for the Model village.
Thangso also emphasized on spreading awareness on hygiene so that the villagers become well aware of healthy lifestyle.
He further advised the district administration to co-operate with the villagers as it takes both the locals and the Govt administration to develop a place.
The meeting was attended by MLA Saitu Assembly constituency, Namthang Haokip, Chairman Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council Haokhalal Hangshing, Deputy Commissioner Kangpokpi Dr Rangitabali Waikhom, ADC/ADM Kangpokpi Hmangte Lerte Kom, SDO Saitu Gamphazol N Johnson Meetei, Motbung village chief Kaikhosei Lhouvum, SDCs and District Level Officers of Kangpokpi.
Under SAGY, Motbung, as a model village, will be geared towards development of eight different sectors viz human resource, basic amenities and services, social security, economic development, personal, social, environment development and good governance.
The main motive of adopting model village is to fulfil the goals of education for all, health care for all, connectivity for all, power for all, immunization for all, water for all and banking for all.
Later, Motbung village authority also presented tokens of appreciation to the dignitaries.
