After a series of talks with the Principal Secretary, Suresh Babu and DGP Shahid Ahmad, the All Manipur VDF Welfare Association (AMVDFWA) has suspended their stir with immediate effect.
Speaking at a press conference held at Irawat Bhawan, AMVDFWA president L Deban said that the DGP has agreed to make an increment of Rs 1000 in VDF's honorarium and implement 13-month salary system.
Jailed VDF personnel would be released without any condition and discharged personnel would also be reinstated to their posts, he added.

Further, to enable putting forward their grievances before the DGP of Manipur, he said that the DGP has agreed to meet the representatives of AMVDFWA on the first Monday of every month.
As the strike has been suspended with immediate effect, he urged all the VDF personnel posted in all the nine districts of Manipur to return to their posts and resume duty.
