Imphal, August 07 2020:
Students' Union of Kangleipak (SUK) has appealed the authorities to check the errors in the online registration form for college admission.
SUK, in a release, said they laud the steps taken up by the Higher Education Department to start the admission process considering the importance of education even during this time of pandemic.
However, there are some errors in the online registration form.
There is no option to choose BCom in the college where BCom course is open, it said.
SUK also appealed to exempt uploading of certificates of OBC, ST, SC, saying that it is not easy to get the certificates during this time of pandemic.
Even in CSIR NET, uploading of certificates is not required for this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
It is done by only selecting the student's respective category, SUK said.
The online registration fee for the Dhanamanjuri University should be exempted considering the financial condition of the people due to the pandemic, SUK said.
According to a notification issued by Department of University and Higher Education and Dhanamanjuri University, it is stated that the selection list will be made based on the marks scored in the Higher Secondary Examination.
This move has saddened many students who have scored less marks but still want to get admission in good colleges.
"If there is no other option for this year then so be it however from the next session the admission should be done by conducting an entrance test," SUK demanded.
15-20 percent seats should also be reserved in each college so that the students in the compartmental also get admission after they clear the exam, SUK added.
