Tourism promotion programme held at Lungphu village

Ukhrul, February 07 2020:
The Ardent Foundation ( DSIR -SIRO), Ukhrul in collaboration with National Council of Science & Technology Communication ( NCSTC) Department of Science and Technology (DST), NEW Delhi organised a one day programme on promotion of tourism at Lungphu village, Kamjong.
The programme was held under the banner "Raising Scientific Temper through Eco Next amongst the tribal Youths of Manipur in North East India" .
Dr Joy Rimai talked about the prospect of tourism in the district.
Resource persons Dr Lucy Jajo and Laishram Yelhounganba Khuman dwelt on opportunity and avenue available in the district for tourism.
The villagers were informed that they can grow apple variety- HRMN-99, which is favourable to low altitude.
Altogether 100 farmers from different villages of Kamjong village attended the programme.
