Vegetables distributed at Noney

Tamenglong, April 06 2020:
In view of the acute shortage of essential commodities in Noney Bazar due to the ongoing lockdown, a team of philanthropists from Duiluan Part-2, Matung (Wairangba),Tameglong district (15 km away from Noney bazar) led by three members of the Village Authority brought one Bolero pickup/camper load of fresh vegetables and handed over to the members of Longmai Bazar Board, Noney.
Later with the help of volunteers from various civil organisations, the Longmai Bazar Board distributed the donated items free of cost to the stranded migrant workers, poor and needy and for those persons who are staying in the rented house.
Meanwhile, all shops including essential commodities seller except medical stores were closed down and roads, streets were deserted in Noney and Tamenglong districts.
However, some trucks carrying essential commodities and those vehicles belong to essential services were seen plying along NH-37 (Imphal -Jiribam Road) .
On the other hand, Tamenglong Autonomous District Council's Chairman Namsinrei Panmei accompanied by ADM of Tamenglong district Kajaigai Gangmei and SP of Tamenglong District today visited and assessed the situation of the relief camp of migrant workers being opened at the Zeme Church's Office, Tamenglong Headquarter.
The relief camp was opened by the Tamenglong District Administration.
Awangbow Newmai, MLA, Tamei along with a team of Manipur Police, Fire Service from Imphal sanitized the whole Tamei Bazar and its adjoining area with Sodium Hypochlorite solution by using a fire extinguisher vehicle, today.
