Green Foundation media fellowships programme

With an aim of providing awareness regarding importance of organic farming for sustainable agriculture and current trend of non-judicious use of chemicals in agricultural lands, to the public, the Green Foundation invited eligible journalists to apply for a media fellowship programme, one each for print and TV journalists, to produce five stories that highlight prospects and efficacy of organic farming in Manipur.
A press release issued by the executive director of The Green Foundation, Dr Nongmaithem Reena Devi (video journalist) of ISTV News and Thongam Premchan Singh (senior journalist) of Poknapham were found to satisfy all the terms and conditions of awarding Green Foundation Media Fellowship 2019 by the members of the screening committee, on the theme 'Organic farming for a sustainable agriculture in Manipur' .
It further informed that the duration of the fellowship will be 5 months and the selected journalists will each receive a stipend of Rs 25,000 to support research, travel and writing.
It then explained that the selected applicants from print media is expected to generate five news stories (1000 words each) for print journalist and five news stories for TV journalist, based on the research carried out under the fellowship.
Original clippings/video clip of these articles/TV stories will have to be submitted on the completion of the fellowship programme, it added.
