JNIMS gets TeleICU Hub, RIMS diagnostic centre

Chief Minister N Biren Singh inaugurated a 10-bedded ICU ward and a TeleICU Hub at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Imphal.
Addressing the gathering at the opening function of the facilities held on Tuesday at the auditorium of the medical institute, N Biren said that a society could not develop fully until there is proper focus on professionalism.
Further opining that there could be no change in development if the society continues to stick on the old thoughts, he also stressed that politicians need to go together and work with people as per changing trend.
While asserting that rooting out corruption must begin from self, the chief minister confided that he had already advised ruling party MLAs not to indulge in any form of corruption in job recruitments.
He also expressed his government's strong stand against corruption in any form and stressed the necessity of giving awareness against corruption so that the same could be rooted out from grassroots level.
Continuing that the state has witnessed development and changes in many sectors, N Biren Singh said that the state government has been discussing setting up of a hospital of the status of AIIMS.
Apart from JNIMS, district hospital Ukhrul, CHC Sekmai, district hospital Jiribam, CHC Nungba, CHC Kangpokpi, district hospital Kamjong, sub-district hospital Moreh, CHC Parbung, district hospital Bishnupur, CHC Kakching, district hospital Senapati, district hospital Thoubal, district hospital Chandel, district hospital Tamenglong and district hospital Churachandpur will also be supported by TeleICU.
With the TeleICU facilities, patients being treated at ICU of district hospitals and other TeleICU supported hospitals will be able to access observation by specialist doctors through the TeleICU Hub set up at JNIMS.
JNIMS will act as the tele-consultation hub.
It will share expertise and provide handholding support to the doctors in District Hospitals in delivery of critical care services in rural areas.
Health and family welfare minister Dr Sapam Ranjan, CAF & PD minister Leishangthem Susindro, social welfare minister Heikham Dingo, Keirao MLA L Rameshwor, Lamlai MLA Khongbantabam Ibomcha, chief secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar, additional chief secretary V Vumlunmang and other government officials also attended the inaugural function.
On the other-hand, speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Th Satyabrata has inaugurated Apunba Health Care Diagnostic Centre to be run by Apunba Agency at RIMS on Wednesday.
Speaking at the inauguration function, Th Satyabrata stressed that health care sector needs to have affordable and efficient diagnostic centres and appealed to people to support the healthcare sector.
The event was also attended by Apunba Health Care Diagnostic unit proprietor Irungbam Abhijit Singh and social worker Nongthombam Dilip.
According to Abhijit, the centre will provide various diagnostic facilities like X-ray and ultrasound and OPD facility for paediatrics, gynaecology, orthopaedics and medicine.
