More than 350 Jawans and students from KV School, Langjing attended the programme.
Suresh Sharma, DIGP M&N Sector graced the occasion as the chief guest.
A brief lecture was given by Dr Deepak, CMO (Anaesthetist) and a power point presentation was given by Dr Pranjal, SMO (Surgeon) on prevention of Coronavirus.
Dr Deepak explained that the virus has shown evidence of human-to-human transmission, with the number of cases hooting into hundreds by late January 2020 at several countries across Europe, North America and especially the Asia-Pacific.
The incubation period (time from exposure to onset of symptoms) of the virus ranges from 2 to 14 days but there is evidence that it may be contagious during this period and possibly for several days also after recovery.
Symptoms include fever, coughing and breathing difficulties, and it can be fatal, he said while adding that anyone who suspects that they are carrying the virus is advised to wear a protective mask and seek medical advice at the earliest.
Suresh Sharma, DIGP M&N Sector also shared his view on above issue.
He mentioned about the symptoms of the virus which include fever, cough, shortness of breath, and diarrhoea, and may vary from slight to very severe.
Cases of severe infection can result in pneumonia, kidney failure, and death.
Upper respiratory symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose or sore throat are less frequent.
The Ministry of Health has asked all to practice a good standard of hygiene, such as washing hands regularly and those who are unwell should wear a mask and see a doctor immediately.
