Liquor held, disposed of as Joint Task Force Pourabi swings into action

COVID-19 Joint Task Force, Pourabi, which was formed on August 31, had seized and disposed liquor as the body swung into action right from the formation day.
The liquor was seized from the possession of an individual at Pourabi Makha Leikai, who was supposedly running a liquor vendor during the drive conducted by the local taskforce who came out to effectuate the containment order issued by District Administration, Imphal East in and around Pourabi village and nearby containment areas.
In all, 15 litres of liquor was seized by the team apart from pulling up two liquor suppliers during the drive, said a statement of the task force.
The taskforce also appealed all not to indulge in intoxicants, especially during such a difficult time brought by the COVID-19 outbreak.
Meanwhile, Khundrakpam Zilla Parishad Member, Thangjam Angoubi donated a sum of Rs 5,000 to the taskforce, the taskforce said while expressing gratitude.
The taskforce also thanked Waiton Gram Panchayat's Pradhan Pukhrambam Surbala and Pourabi Part I's Member, Yambem Naobi for distributing edibles to the households within the containment zone area.
The task force, on the other hand stated that MLA of Khundrakpam AC, Th Lokeshor donated 5 bags of rice for distribution at containment zone areas, it continued.
