Youths, intellectuals, scholars and leaders express concern on keeping of students the state out of class for along time, in a convention of the youths held at Wangoo Laipham Heinouyal in Bishnupur district today.
In the 7th convention of the All India Youth Federation (AIYF), it was resolved to build up a united strength of the people in pressing the state authority to ensure availability of Public Distribution System (PDS) items to its beneficiaries, repeal of AFSPA, to provide allowance to the educated un-employed youths of the state, making of state youth policy, hiking of wages of NREGS workers, improvement of road communication networks, power supply and others essential services etc.

The convention also discussed at length on the keeping of students out of class since the class boycott stir of three students' bodies, AMSU, MSF and KSA and resolved to press both government and agitating bodies to end the impasse at the earliest and allow resumption of normal classes in the schools.
Former minister, Dr M Nara who attended the inauguration function of the convention as chief guest expressed that the most important thing ahead of the people of the state is unity among the people of different communities settling together.
Only when there is unity among the people, the society can march ahead towards development.
It will also check the prevailing chaos in the state.
The ideology of keeping suppressed people by force is an outdated one.
This ideology will be a last long policy.
Government should find out policies to relief the people from the prevailing chaotic situation, he urged.
Wait and watch policy will not bring nothing benefit to the people, he added.
President of the organising body, Th Babuchaoba and comrade N Singhajit were president and guest of honour respectively of the inaugural function.
Member of AIYF and also social worker, Yumnam Jiten, Sh Purnimasi, A Kunjakishore and Ksh Bina were among other dignitaries who attended the convention.
