Imphal, September 01 2016:
Popular
Front of India, Manipur has
today expressed concern over
the growing religious
intolerance due to alleged
passive role of BJP.
Speaking to mediapersons
at Manipur Press Club, PFI,
Manipur general secretary
Khullakpam Riyajuddin said
that India is a democratic and
secular country where people
of all religions should be
treated equally with respect
and dignity.
However, minor
communties and other back-
ward classes have been
subjected to intolerable acts
by the supporters of BJP.
Therefore, various develop-
ment prospects have been
hampered.
As part of the month-long
campaign "Stop Politics of
Hate" launched by the Popu-
lar Front of India, PFI,
Manipur will also organise
campaign programmes at
various places of Lilong and
Thoubal.
Poster campaigns
and street corner meetings
will be the main highlights of
the campaign.
A public meet-
ing will also be held on
September 25 at Sora.
The campaign will advocate secularism and promote
peaceful co-existence, he added.
