2 AR personnel wounded in PLA ambush

Imphal, June 01 2015 :
Two Assam Rifles were wounded in an ambuscade carried out by the People's Liberation Army on Monday afternoon at a place in between Makan and Ashangkhong villages under Kasom Khullen police station in Ukhrul district.
Suspected PLA cadres detonated a roadside bomb when the personnel of 44 Assam Rifles were on a foot patrolling.
Later there was a fierce exchange of fire.
The two personnel were hurt by the bomb shrapnels and later they were airlifted to the military hospital at Leimakhong.
After some minutes of firings additional forces rushed there and the attackers retreated.
The wounded personnel, both riflemen, are identified as Rakesh Kumar and Mustakin.
A powerful bomb was also exploded on Sunday night at Kamjong.
There was no casualty.
