Mime play 'No Budget' shown in Kolkata

A 13 member cultural troupe of Kanglei Mime Theatre Repertory participated in the India International Mime Festival, organised from march 24 till 30 at Kolkata and presented the mime play "No Budget", directed by Dr Yumnam Sadananda of the Repertory on March 27.A press statement of the organisation maintained that the troupe took part in the festival under the sponsorship of Ministry of Culture and Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi.
Apart from presenting the play, the director of the Repertory also spoke at the workshop and interactions organised in connection with mime play during the festival as resource person, it stated.
Two differently abled artists namely Bilu Roy of Heingang AC and M Inaoton of Thongju AC were among the 13 participants, added the statement.
The festival was organised by Indian Mime Theatre Kolkata in collaboration with Ministry of Culture and Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre (EZCC) .
25 groups of mime artists from Japan, Mexico, Germany, Turkey, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh also participated in the India International Mime Festival and altogether 20 groups from India were present.
Kanglei Mime Theatre Repertory will also be presenting its play 'No Budget' during the National Mime Festival organised in Kerala from May 10 till 12 .
