Swastha Bharat Yatra reaches Noney

Noney, October 29 2018:
Cyclists on Swastha Bharat Yatra, spreading the message - Eat Right India, were given warm welcome at Noney today.
Sub-Divisional Officer Noney Muhammad Asghar Arzad, Nodal Officer of Food Safety Department along with locals extended their greetings and welcomed the cyclists.
Later DC Noney passed on the cyclothon baton to the chief cyclist at Longmai Bazar.
Swastha Bharat Yatra, an initiative of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), is a pan India Cyclothon.
The cycle rally began from 6 different Indian cities on October 16 on World Food Day.
The North-Eastern leg of the yatra was flagged off from Agartala.
The SBY will end in New Delhi on January 27, 2019 .
The cyclothon is being organised to commemorate 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Over 18,000 kms will be covered, with more than 7,500 volunteers participating the rally.
They will stop at around 2,000 predetermined locations and conduct various activities, 'Prabhat Pheris' and many closed door meetings to propagate the message of eating right.
