United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) has strongly condemned the incident of gun attack on the Chief of Phoilen village Ngamjahen on the night of September 17 by some miscreants, causing grievous injury to a class VII student Lunkholal who was present inside the house at the time of the attack.
Phoilen village is located near Sajik tampak in Chandel district of Manipur.
In a statement, JM Thadou, Information and Publicity Secretary of UKLF, said that being formed to protect and safeguard the life of innocent public, UKLF is always against such actions of creating fear psychosis among the people and so appeal to all and sundry not to repeat such heartless action in future.
"We also appeal to the public to have understanding with the group operating in the area and not easily change side to others particularly the newly formed armed groups as there is always a chance of misunderstanding and conflicts & confrontation thereby causing hardships to the public.
In any kind of conflict and confrontation, it is the public who are at the receiving end", JM Thadou said, adding, "We should respect and valued the life of innocent public and not to resort to mindless actions if there is no big and proper reason to do so.
This is for maintaining proper and permanent peace and normalcy in our society" .
