Unknown man identified

Kangpokpi, June 24 2018:
The unknown man handed over to Gamnom Sapormeina police station by Sapormeina Area Women Union on June 22 evening was identified this morning by his family members who have taken him home.
He is Wichamdin Pamei (30), s/o Chaplinbou Pamei of Kanglatongbi Tejpari under Sekmai police station in Imphal West.
He has three sisters and he is the only son in the family.
According to his father Chaplinbou Pamei, the family came to know after they saw his photograph in today's edition of some local newspapers and rushed to Gamnom Sapormeina police station for identification.
He said that Wichamdin Pamei started having mental problem the year he was to be admitted in Class X and since then he could not further go to school and resume his studies.
He also said that the complication on his ear is cancer and added "we could not treat him further owing to poverty while adding that earlier we resided at Dunong/Ajaiki, Part-I in Tamenglong district bordering Nagaland and shifted to our present address in 2015" .
He expressed gratitude to all including the Gamnom Sapormeina police, local bodies of Sapormeina and media fraternity for helping him find his only son.
The police handed over Wichamdin Pamei to his father and one relative at the police station at around 8.30 am today.
