'Movement of FCS vehicles to be banned'

'Movement of FCS vehicles on national highways will be blocked, unless Driver Gautam Gopal and Handyman Nomwong Newme, who were allegedly kidnapped by NSCN (K), are released' .
This was announced by Angomcha Nandal, Chairman of the JAC formed against the kidnapping of driver and handymen during a press meet held at Manipur Press Club here today.
Driver Gautam Gopal (28), son of Ramkumar from Kanglatongbi and Handyman Namwang Newme, (23), s/o Erangteung Newme of Teguaram village, Tamenglong district were allegedly kidnapped from 7-Miles Zebra, Kohima on August 13 midnight, he informed the media, adding that after enquiry by the JAC, the name of vehicle owner has been found out to be one Moirangthem Kullachandra (42) son of M.Khomei of Luwangsangbam in Imphal East district.

no.NL 01 K 0490, there has not been any monetary demand served on him and no pending case of the vehicle which may lead to the kidnapping of the driver and the handyman.
While saying that the vehicle used to transport rice from Dimapur to Imphal under the contractor named Leisang, the JAC Chairman disclosed that as there has been a monetary demand on contractor Leisang served by the NSCN (K), the two might have been kidnapped by the said organization.
The JAC appealed to the NSCN (K) to release the driver and the handyman safely as they are not guilty of any misdeed.
If they are not released by August 24, the JAC will ban movement of FCS vehicles on national highways and unloading of loads at Sangaipurou and Luwangsangbam godowns, warned the JAC while adding that protest demonstrations will also be held across the state.
Manipur government and the contractor Leishang shall be held responsible for any untoward incident arising out of the non-release of the driver and handyman, the Chairman further warned, while adding that the JAC would urge the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister to take necessary actions.
Taking part in the press meet, Advisor N.Sorojini Leima condemned the kidnapping of drivers and handymen for monetary demands served on the contractors.
She said agitations will be launched in collaboration with women organizations of the hills, unless they are released within the stipulated date.
