Woman 'assaulted' by brothers

Claiming that a woman from Moijing Leingoijin was assaulted with brick and stone by two brothers from Kaibung Mayai Leika on August 15, the All Manipur Muslim Development Committee (AMMDC) has urged the 'perpetrators' to clarify regarding the matter.
A press release issued by AMMDC alleged that the two brothers namely Md Ithemba (28) and Md Achouba (38), S/o Md Salim (55) of Kaibung Mayai Leikai attacked Ruhina, w/o Moulana Basir Ahmad of Moijing Leingoijin from the front with heavy objects while she was buying grocery at a shop.
Stating that the woman fell unconsciously instantly as she was attacked on the face, it claimed the two brothers, however, escaped the site after the incident.
The husband and father of the woman rushed her to JNIMS, it said and claimed that the relatives of the victim were denied from filing a case at Thoubal Women Police Station.
Asserting that AMMDC takes the matter very seriously, the committee further urged the perpetrators to show up within the stipulated time, failing which the committee will initiate action(s) upon the perpetrators with the help of like-minded CSOs and people.
