After Special Judge ND&PS j released LhukhoseiZou in the high profile drug seizure case, Khundrakpam Kendra Youth | Organisation (KHUKYO) has appealed Government to rope in Central Bureau of Investigation or form an independent committee headed by a retired Judge of the Supreme Court to investigate "lapses" in the prosecution of the then accused persons.
In a statement, the organisation said that the Government should investigate any lapses on the part of the Investigation Officer of the case and take appropriate action against all concerned who had allegedly submitted ''half baked report" .
It may be noted that Lhukhosei Zou, former ADC Chairman was acquitted by the Special ND & PS Court yesterday in the 2018 drug case.
NAB (Narcotics and Affairs of Border) team led by MPS officer Th Brinda had arrested Lhukhosei Zou along with several others in 2018 along with contraband items worth crores.
