6 schools of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC selected for Go to School Mission: MLA

MLA Soibam Subhashchandra has informed that six schools of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC have been selected for the Go to School Mission of Chief Minister N Biren Singh which will be launched tomorrow.
He made the statement during the inauguration of five newly constructed classrooms of Heinoukhongnembi Upper Primary School at Kwakeithel Konjeng Awang Leikai today.
Speaking as the chief guest, the MLA said that he himself will be the Chairman of a committee which will look after all the necessary and lacking areas' of the school from this academic session: Pointing out that Malom Megha High School is also one among the 6 selected schools, the MLA narrated that the school once had only 25 students and 22 teachers but now the school has over 264 students thus becoming a successful Government school.
He then explained that the newly inaugurated five classrooms of Heinoukhongnembi Upper Primary School were constructed under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan (SSA) and his LDA funds.
Under SSA, funds were sanctioned for the construction of 3 classrooms while the remaining two were con-, structed from the LADF, he added.
The MLA also informed that construction works were under way for 10 classrooms of Ningombam High School and will be completed within this month.
On the other hand, SSA, Manipur Additional State Project Officer T Phulen Meitei said that many schools have been constructed under SSA but the classroom inaugurated today were one of a kind.
The SSA is taking up.
steps to find school dropouts and bring them to the mainstream through Residential Special Training Centre or Non Residential Special Training Centre.
From this academic session, sports materials and library books will be provided under the guidelines of the Ministry of HRD, he said adding that many State level sports competitions will be organised as well.
ZEO Wangoi, Y Hemcharidra, AI (School) Th Pratima Devi and Heinoukhongnembi Upper Primary School Head Mistress Loitongbam S Sobita attended the event as the presidium members.
