12 Phek-Jessami bus accident victims arrive

Imphal, March 16 2015:
Deputy Speaker Preshow Shimray on Monday visited JNIMS and RIMS here to meet injured victims of Nagaland's Phek district bus accident that took place on March 13 .
Out of the 21 injured, 12 arrived here around 2 am.
Nine have been referred to JNIMS and three who are critical have been shifted to RIMS.
Still, six of the 21 injured are undergoing treatment in Kohima and three in Phek.
Thirteen people were killed and another 21 hurt in the bus mishap occurred at a place between Phek and Ukhrul district's Jessami.
The ill-fated Nagaland State Transport bus was carrying 35 passengers, a wedding party, when the accident happened on their way to Jessami, killing 12 persons and injuring another 21 .
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines, Preshow Shimray said he hoped the State Government would extend financial aid to all the victims.
He informed that the matter concerning providing monetary assistance to the bus accident victims would be discussed by the State Cabinet.
Representatives of Information Centre for Hills area Manipur (ICHAM) also visited all the bus accident victims soon after their arrival here.
Sharing the grief of the bereaved families, ICHAM president Rajendro regretted that the victims had to wait three long days to reach Imphal for better treatment.
"There are neither doctors nor ambulance in Jessami for emergency service.
The Ukhrul District Hospital neither has such facilities.
Rajendro said ICHAM will extend help and support to all the accident victims, seeking the same from other people too.
