Religion should not break the bond of brotherhood : O Ibobi

Religion should not be a dividing line among the various ethnic groups settling in the state, we are all brothers and it should not break the bond of brotherhood among us all, said Chief Minister O Ibobi.
Speaking at the Mera Houchongba observation held at Haying Khongbal Tolong Yumpham, 1MR Complex with exchange of gifts among the people residing in the hills and the plains as the main highlight of the occasion, Chief Minister O Ibobi said that everyday, the Manipuris worship the Lainingthou Sanamahi and Ima Leimrel Sidabi.
The state government will help in whatever way it could in the works and functions of the Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board.
The grant-in-aid given by the state government to the Sanamahi Temple Board annually is not in tune with the present trend.
The Sanamahi Temple Board is still performing its duties inspite of the financial restraints it faces.

Delivering the Presidential speech on the occasion, Health and Family Welfare Minister, L Jayentakumar said that the function of exchanging gifts among the people of the hills and the valleys is indeed an important event.
It reminds us of the feeling of love and oneness among the different religious groups of the state.
There was exchange of gifts between Chief Minister O Ibobi and ex-Minister RV Minthing.
Later on the Chief Minister also witnessed the Puya exhibition.
IFCD Minister N Biren was also present on the occasion as the Guest of Honour.
