Hill districts join live interaction programme with PM

Union minister of state for external affairs and education Dr RK Ranjan called upon all concerned to work for reaping the benefits of Centre's reformative Act East Policy for overall development in the region.
Speaking on the sidelines of the virtual meet 'Garib Kalyan Sam melan' held across the country on Tuesday, Dr Ranjan explained that the Act East Policy is an initiative to bring development in northeast region by way of connecting the region with other Southeast Asian countries.
"The cross border trade that opened under the policy should not be a gateway only for importing goods from other countries but taken advantage of to produce and export.
For this, we need to work hard to become producers and exporters", he said.
The union minister said that changes are taking place in almost every held in the country, including northeast region under the initiative-reformation, perform and transform-mantra of Prime Minister.
"Modi has an idea of less government with large governance.
It is through this mantra, he initiated the reformation which will bring transformation after performance" he said.
Dr Ranjan noted that from the very day of assuming office as the Prime Minister eight years ago, there has been a revolution in the coun try's economy under reformation initiatives of Narendra Modi.
"Economic revolution did take place from 1980 but development pace could not be accelerated as the benefits of the initiative did not reach the public but went to the pocket of only a few section of the society", he added.
Knowing this fact, Modi initiated the reformation under which over 1500 redundant laws of British era were abol ished and started amending laws like Armed Forces (Special) Powers Act to suit with time.
The recent move for partial repeal of the Act from northeast is a part of the reformation.
Moreover, reformation of land law is a must so as to avail the benefits of various farmers' welfare schemes by the deserving farmers, he stressed.
ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Imphal hosted the interaction between PM Modi and beneficiaries/schemes of central government as a part of 'Garib Kalyan Sammelan' to mark completion of eight years of the government led by PM Modi.
Apart from the union minister, MLA Sapam Kunjakishore, Imphal West Up Adhyaksha Laishram Boby Devi, Imphal West additional district magistrate Dr N Johnson and joint director of ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre Dr I Mechachandra also attended the function during which beneficiaries of various schemes shared their experiences and conveyed gratitude to the government.
Hill districts of the state also joined rest of the country in the live interaction programme between PM Modi and beneficiaries of various schemes/programmes of the government on Tuesday.
The interaction programme in respect of Churachandpur district was held at YPA Hall, Hiangtam Lamka and it was attended by TA & Hills minister Letpao Haokip, Churachandpur MLA LM Khaute, Singhat MLA Chinlunthang, DC Churachandpur Pawan Yadav, SP Churachandpur Shivanand Surve and all DLOs of the district apart from beneficiaries of 16 schemes/programmes spanning nine ministries/departments of the Government of India.
Speaking on the occasion, Letpao Haokip urged all concerned to judiciously implement and avail welfare schemes of the state and Central governments.
He said that time has come to put an end to misusing/mis-implemen-tation of government schemes and programmes and urged all eligible beneficiaries of various schemes to get themselves enrolled and avail facilities to the maximum.
The minister further assured of all possible assistance to eligible beneficiaries of various schemes.
MLAs LM Khaute and Chinlunthang also urged people to support and take necessary initiatives to properly implement government schemes/programs so as to bring development from the grassroots level.
He said that the government has been taking all necessary steps possible to ease the lives of the people.
Our Senapati correspondent informed that the interaction programme in respect of the district was held at Multi-Purpose Hall, Mini Secretariat with CAF &PD minister L Susindro Meitei as chief guest.
MAO MLA Losii Dikho, Karong MLA J Kumo Sha, SDOs, DLOs, CSO leaders, village authorities and beneficiaries of various schemes also attended the event.
According to our Kangpokpi correspondent, textiles and cooperation minister Nemcha Kipgen as chief guest of the interaction programme expressed her gratitude to the PM for introducing various welfare schemes and programmes for the welfare of the people.
She also called upon all to avail such schemes introduced by the government to uplift their socio-economic status.
Kangpokpi ADC caretaker chairman Haokholal Hangsing, DC Kengoo Zuringla, SP Amrita Sinha, DLOs, officials and beneficiaries of various schemes took part in the live interaction programme with the PM.
The district level event was linked with the national event from Ham when the Prime Minister went live from Shimla.
Meanwhile, social welfare minister Heikham Dingo Singh was chief guest of the district level interaction programme held at Multi-Purpose Hall, Mini Secretariat, DC Chandel office complex.
Additional DC Md Firoj Khan and beneficiaries of varies schemes being implemented in the district, SDOs, DLOs and other officials of the district also attended the event.
A similar event was also held at Town Hall, Kamjong district headquarters with transport minister Khasim Vashum as chief guest.
Phungyar MLA Leishiyo Keishing, Kamjong DC Rang Peter, SP Ravi Chaudhury and all DLOs and beneficiaries also attended the interaction programme.
On the other-hand, health & family welfare minister Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh led Tengnoupal district in joining the nation-wide live interaction programme with the Prime Minister.
The virtual interaction event organised by the district administration was held at Tengnoupal community hall.
Tengnoupal DC Mannuamching, SP Goulianmang, DLOs, village chiefs, civil organisations, beneficiaries and others also attended the event.
Later, the minister inspected PHC Tengnoupal and interacted with the staff.
