IW police details 'rich catches' from Jan 1 to Dec 30

Imphal West police registered 1267 cases in the period between January 1 and December 30, 2022 of which 672 have been disposed, arrested 61 UG cadres and 360 others in IPC (260) and drug related crimes in the period.
A press release signed by Imphal West SP Ksh Shivakanta Singh also said that 14 pistols, 198 ammunition, 398 detonators, 58 PEK explosives (7.35 Kg approx) and Cordtex (52 feet) were seized in the year (from January 1 to December 30, 2022) while the drugs seized in the period included heroin (5 kg 149 gm 78 mg), brown sugar (4 kg 919 gm), opium (151 kg 87 gm), ganja (1.80 kg), WY tablets (1,24,797 pcs), ice drugs (5 kg), Clavitol-50 Tramadol HCl, Capsules IP 50 mg (33,800 pcs), Codeine Phosphate 10 mg (11203 bottles of 100 ml quantity), Alzolam 0.5 mg (15 strips), Tramazac tab/cap (6 strips), Valium 10 mg tab (six strips), Tydel 100 mg tab (2 strips), Buprenorphine 2 mg tab (5 strip), Warma cap (1 strip) .
The SP further stated that Imphal West commandos arrested one Saddhik Mohammad (44), s/o Safi Mohammad of 82 Indra Nagar, Jodhpur, Rajasthan along with 138 packets of opium weighing around 136.03 kg from North AOC near MMTA, Minuthong on July 12, 2022 .
On June 6 last, the Imphal West commandos seized a detonator fitted on a cordtex wire, 58 PEK explosive sticks, 3 coils of cordtex wire, 397 detonators , 2 batteries from a cadre of MNRF Thounaojam Rishi Luwangcha (46), s/o Late Th Shelhung Singh of Kangla Sangomshang Makha Leikai who carried out bomb attacks at three locations including the one at Little Flower School.
The SP continued that Imphal West police, on May 5 last, arrested a man for molesting a girl, the footage of which went viral on social media.
Saying that 32 vehicle lifters were also arrested in the period while another 4071 persons were detained under 41 CrPc, the SP continued that the police recovered 18 two-wheeler and eight four-wheeler vehicles this year.
The liquor seized by Imphal West police, as per the SP, included 7154.64 litres (IMFL), 12629.5 litres (beer) and 11879.4 litres (DIC liqour) .
