NT Theatre's "A Far Cry" to be screened at 8th Theatre Olympics

NT Theatre, Manipur's play "A Far Cry" has been selected for screening at the 8th Theatre Olympics 2018 to be held in India under the aegis of International Theatre Olympics Association.
The 51-day carnival of theatre is to be organised by the National School of Drama (NSD) in coordination with the Ministry of Culture from February 17 .
Speaking to media persons at NT Theatre, Manipur's playhouse at Hongnemshang, Changangei Ucheckon Lai Maning today, Ningthoujam Deepak, secretary of the theatre group said that the Theatre Olympics is held for every four years under the aegis of International Theatre Olympics Association.
He informed that the 8th Theatre Olympics 2018 to be inaugurated in New Delhi will be held in 15 different cities of the country.
He also informed that NT Theatre, Manipur's play "A Far Cry" will be screened in Kolkata on March 12 .
He elaborated that the play is directed by him and written by Budha Chingtham, columnist of Sangai Express.
He said that he 8th Theatre Olympics 2018 will showcase best of the theatre productions from around the world.
It will provide India an opportunity to showcase the richness and diversity of its culture to the world.
The Theatre Olympics is an International festival that brings together finest productions of well-known theatre practitioners from the around the world.
It was established in 1993 in Delphi, Greece as an initiative of noted Greek theatre director Theodorus Terzopoulus, Deepak added.
