Prompt action of AR saves girl child

Imphal, May 29 2018:
A three year old girl form P Moulding of Leimakhong was brought to the Army Hospital of Army's Red Shield Division on May 18 following an accident.
The girl identified as Chongnei Nem, d/o Seigoulen had serious head injuries and was in a critical state as she was semi-conscious, unresponsive and suffered from continuous general seizures.
Acting promptly to save the life of young child, the medical staff of the Army Hospital revived Chongnei & continuously worked to keep her airway open to facilitate normal breathing while necessary medication was promptly administered to stabilize her condition and control the life threatening seizures.
Despite these efforts, the condition of the young girl continued to deteriorate and she became hypoxic.
Without losing hope , the Army doctors persisted their efforts by intubating and put her on ventilator support.
After hectic and intensive efforts at resuscitating Chongnei was revived and stabilized enough to be transferred to Raj Medicity, the nearest civilian hospital with the necessary neurosurgical expertise and facilities for her further necessary medical care.
Chongnei was quickly shifted by the Army Hospital using their resources.
A CT scan at the Neurosurgical Centre of the civil hospital, revealed a major brain contusion resulting in diffuse edema.
This was speedily controlled by specialists and the young girl is fast recovering.
Chongnei and her, parents expressed their gratitude and were grateful to the medical staff and doctors of the Army Hospital at Leimakhong whose prompt and expert handling gave her a new lease of life.
