UBCA observes Christmas celebration with pomp and gaiety

The Ukhrul town Baptist Churches Assembly (UBCA), a conglomeration of three Baptist Churches of Ukhrul namely Phungyo Baptist Church, Viewland Baptist Church and Ukhrul town Baptist Church celebrated the week long Christmas ocassion with much pomp and gaiety.
Competition and other activities were carried out at 27 AR Thahao ground Wino bazar, Ukhrul.
The DIG 10 sector, Ukhrul Mohit Seth who attended as chief guest of the programme expressed his gratitude for the invitation and giving the opportunity to celebrate Christmas together with the Christian brethren of Ukhrul town while adding that it was a privilege for his family.
The celebration witnessed eventful entertainment competition including open challenge tug of war, sack race, pumpkin relay for women and biscuit eating for the children which mesmerized the celebration venue.
Later, Mohit Seth distributed prizes to the winner of the entertainment competition.
Meanwhile, the evening session comprised of different competition items for the youth, women and children (skit, choreography, debate, quartet and fashion parade).
According to the statement of the Chairman UBCA Rev Somi Kasomwoshi, the three Baptist Churches reserved one day for joint celebration of Christmas every year with the objective to spread the message of love and harmony for peaceful coexistence of all communities.
He urged the Christian brethren of the district to forgive and forget the past, to build a healthy relationship of all communities as the new year 2018 arrives.
Rev Somi Kasomwoshi further mentioned that the Ukhrul town Baptist church (UTBC) arranged special Christmas gift for the orphanage, widows and paid visit to the hospital to offer special prayer for patients.
The programme was attended TNBC secretary Ephraim Shaiza, Col Rohit, Pastors, Church leaders, elderly members at the ground.
