Driver, handyman kidnapped along NH

Imphal, September 28 2015:
Suspected armed Kuki underground cadres kidnapped one truck driver and a handyman on Sunday night between Daily village and Yaikangpao village under Kangpokpi Police Station of Senapati District along the National Highway-2 (Imphal-Dimapur road).
The driver has been identified as Md Jabir Ahmed (20), son of Md Juwat Ali Choudhury of Silchar.
Sources said that the truck NL01K/0273 left Imphal for Dimapur on Sunday night around 7 pm.
Between Daily and Yaikangpao village, around four to five armed Kuki cadres stopped the vehcile and kidnapped the driver along with his 18-year old handyman, said the source.
Kangpokpi Police have recovered the truck and have registered a case.
Meanwhile, there were also reports that suspected Kuki armed cadres looted three drivers on Sunday evening around 5.30 pm between Keithelmanbi and Saparmeina under Saparmeina Police Station along the National Highway 2.Sources said the armed cadres stopped the three loaded trucks and looted mobile phones of the drivers and handyman including Rs 30,000 .
It may be mentioned that three truck drivers were looted in Koubru Leikha area along National Highway 2 on September 24 around 6.30 pm.
The drivers were robbed of their money and mobile phones at gun point by the militants along the Imphal-Dimapur road.
On the same day, it was reported that unidentified armed cadres looted around 20 trucks between Nungkao and Maku Bridge under Nungba Police Station along the National Highway 37 of Imphal-Jirabam road.
