Waree Leeba Fest begins

Imphal, April 26 2019:
Five-days Waree Leeba Festival 2019, jointly organised by Repertory of Waree Leeba (RWL), Manipur and its branch at Brahmaputra valley, Hojai, kick started today at Durga Mandir at Lanka, Thoirenkhul, Assam.
As part of the inauguration ceremony, president of Repertory of Waree Leeba Brahmaputra Valley, Kshetrimayum Bishnu Singh hoisted the ceremonial flag.
The gathering paid floral tribute to the late gurus/teachers of waree leeba, said a statement of RWL, director, T Shyamkanhai Singh today.
Altogether 10 story tellers including four from Manipur and 6 from Assam are taking part in the festival.
State Kala Akademi Awardee cum president of Repertory of Waree Leeba, Manipur, Konthoujum Kunjo Singh attended the programme among others.
The festival which will continue till April 30 is being organised under the aegis of Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi.
