Imphal, March 26 2019:
Applicants who have submitted their names to be appointed as Primary school teachers under die in harness scheme, have appealed to the authorities concerned to relax the norms under the National Council of Teachers Education.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, one of the applicants, Khuraijam Rebika said that under the NCTE guidelines, those who wish to become Primary school teachers must either complete necessary training from DIET or should have completed BEd.
However, these criteria will be of great inconvenience for the people who wish to be appointed as Primary school teachers under the die in harness scheme, she said explaining that the said criteria is not a problem for those who are in the teaching profession or who are yet to pass DIET (in service).
She then appealed to the State Government to ensure that the NCTE norms are relaxed for the said applicants.
