Indo-Mynamar RBC meet underway

The third Indo-Myanmar Regional Border Committee (RBC) Meet between India and Myanmar, which is being hosted by Red Shield Division under the aegis of Spears Corps of Indian Army, underway since yesterday and will continue till tomorrow at Leimakhong.
According to a statement issued by PIB Defence Wing, on the second day of the meet today, several high ranking officials of the Myanmar delegation led by Commander of North West Command and top ranking representatives from Myanmar Army and various departments of the Government participated in discussion on various issues.
The Indo-Myanmar Regional Border Committee Meet is a landmark event which provides an opportunity for representatives of Security Forces and government officials of both nations to discuss and resolve crucial issues relating to border management, bi-lateral cooperation and counter terrorism strategy.
This forum also offers an opportunity to the delegates to exchange views which assist in further strengthening the bonds of co-operation and friendship among both the countries.
On 24 July, Lt Gen AK Sahni, General Officer Commanding, Spears Corps also handed over Seven Bailey Bridges to Myanmar Army at Leimakhong to the Myanmar Army.
The Myanmar delegation was represented by Maj Gen Soe Lwin, Commander, North West Command who accepted the Bailey Bridges.
This gesture by India will go a long way in providing a vital fillip to the relationship between the two historic neighbours, the statement added.
