Imphal, April 24 2015 :
The Kangleipak Communist Party-Military Council (KCP-MC) has temporarily suspended the ban imposed on all Catholic schools in the valley on Friday, saying the move is in response to the positive nod the outfit got from Catholic Society, Manipur to consider its demand.
KCP (MC) forced all seven Catholic schools in Imphal to close down since April 1 last after these institutes refused the key demand of the outfit to reserve 15 percent seats in admission for the downtrodden section of the society.
A statement of Paikhomba Meitei, secretary, information & publicity, military affairs, KCP (MC) made it clear that the outfit was forced to ban all Catholic schools in the valley after the stand-off between the Catholic society and the group remained unsettled.
The statement said KCP (MC) had explained in detail on the outfit's "Operation Mangal" to all leaders of various student bodies which had been outwardly countering the ban imposed on Catholic schools by the outfit.
It claimed that a stage was set to resolve the long-drawn confrontation following a particular organization whose "dialectical interplay" significantly helped in initiating a positive step.
Calling the Manipur Students' Federation (MSF) an 'elegant student body, the statement lauded it for its refined key role in the efforts to bring about a peaceful settlement to the stalemate.
It said that KCP (MC) being a proletarian revolutionary group (communist revolution) hopes the people of Manipur will lend a helping hand to the outfit in its struggle to ensure rights to all students belonging to the marginalized section of the society.
