MIT issue to discuss today

To discuss the issue over the agitations being launched by students of Manipur Institute of technology (MIT) who are demanding removal of its incumbent Principal in-charge, a meeting of the governing body of the institute has been convened at Manipur University tomorrow.
Informing this while talking to media persons at the conference hall of the University today, Vice Chancellor of Manipur University Prof HNK Sharma said that MIT has been recognized as a constituent college of Manipur University on October 13, 2005.The agitation launched by the students of MIT demanding removal of Principal in-charge Dr Th Kulachandra and to provide the required infrastructures of the institute would be discussed in depth during the meeting of governing body tomorrow.
The Vice Chancellor further informed that the charges of corruption levelled against the Principal-in charge would also be discussed during the meeting.
In addition to this, the meeting would look into the matter wherein the Joint Resident Commissioner of Manipur Bhawan at Kolkata has send a written statement charging the students of MIT with not abiding by the rules of the Government when they stayed at the Bhawan.
The Vice Chancellor said that he had visited the institute and took stock of the problems being faced by the students.
In order to take up immediate construction works and to solve the problems faced by the students, the authority of the Manipur University has sanctioned some amount.
