Thoubal district police commandos today rounded up a PLA cadre involved in the encounter of March 16 with 21 Para at Old Tollen.
On getting information that some injured PLA cadres are undergoing treatment at Imphal Hospital, Thoubal district police commandos rushed to the hospital and arrested the PLA cadre namely, Ningthoukhongjam Bhagirat alias Hardly Meitei (25) s/o Kula Meitei of Heitupokpi Mamang Leikai, Heirok Part-I .
A press release issued by Thoubal Additional SP (Ops) in favour of Senior SP said that on questioning, Bhgirat revealed that he was injured in the encounter.
Bhagirat (Army No 2937) joined RPF/PLA in 2007 through s/s 2nd Lt Nongleiba and got basic military training in Myanmar.
In another incident, a combined team of Imphal West district police commandos and troops of 12 Maratha Light Infantry arrested one KYKL cadre from his residence today.
The cadre has been identified as Seram Piyarbond alias Iton Singh (45) s/o late Pishak of Patsoi Part-II.
In yet another incident, based on a tip off about the movement of some UG cadres along the Imphal-Moreh route, troops of 29 Assam Rifles of 26 Sectors under HQ IGAR (South) established a mobile vehicle check post in the area of Sita Road Junction and apprehended three KYKL cadres including two women at around 12 yesterday.
The apprehended cadres identified as Shyam Khanal (48) s/o Late Bira of Yairipok Ningel, Lilni (40) w/o Shyam Khanal of Yairipok and Jiban Devi (35) w/o Guna Mani Uairpok Ningel, Thoubal, were travelling by a Tata Sumo, a PRO HQ IGAR (S) release said.
The cadres along with Rs 3050 and other material recovered from their possession were later handed over to Imphal West Police Station, the release added.
In another incident, troops of 29 Assam Rifles while establishing a mobile vehicle check post at Sita Road Junction at around 8 am today pulled up two KCP cadres identified as Y Ranjan Singh (32) s/o Y Lukhoi of Santipur and A Singhajit (20) s/o Ibocho Singh of Mayang Imphal, Santipur.
In yet another incident, four ULA cadres including its C-in-C and finance secretary were apprehended by 31 Assam Rifles today at around 10 am at Moreh Ward No 2 while launching operation in the area.
The ULA cadres identified as C-in-C Aimson (36) of Pallel, finance secretary Thangminlal (35) of Ward No.2 Moreh, Moringson (16) of Pallel and Aning (27) of Pallel, Chandel were later handed over to Imphal West Police Station along with the recovered 2 Mag of AK-47, according to the release.
