JAC AMTU & AMGEO Tml urges release of salary sans no due certificate

The Joint Administrative Council, JAC and All Manipur Government Employees Organization, AMGEO Tamenglong Branch today submit a memorandum to the Chief Secretary, Government of Manipur seeking release of monthly salary for July 2011 without 'no- due certificate' from electricity department.
The memorandum signed by G.Ringamang, President JAC (AMGEO & AMTUC) Tamenglong Branch, Gaisingongpou, General Secretary, JAC (AMGEO & AMTUC) Tamenglong Branch and D.Champoudai Finance Secretary JAC (AMGEO & AMTUC) Tamenglong Branch stated that there are lot of irregularities of electric bills being prepared by the electric department Tamenglong charging for even days where there has been no consumption which is beyond the norms of taxation.
Earlier the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO has submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong demanding regular electricity supply in Tamenglong but no action has been taken up.
The JAC reiterated its demands for consideration and necessary action, it stated.
The memo also demand either not to prepare bills or to exempt taxes for the month of February, March, April and August 2011 as there were no electric current supply during these months.
Further the memo stated that the government employees are compelled to produce no- due certificate for the release of salary as per directive of the government.
However, on visit of the department for clearance of such bills/ taxes, the competent authorities were often found absent at the station..
Moreover, TR- 5 is not available for receiving taxes which cause much inconvenience to the employees/consumers.
