Cycle rally calls for peace and healthy living

Meeting the aspirations of the local populace of Churachandpur, "Red Shield Peace Camp - 2011" has been organised at Rayburn College scheduled from 16 June to 21 June 2011.An Opening Ceremony for the Camp was earlier organised on 16 Jun 2011 in a colourful manner and was attended by Maj Gen D..SHooda, AVSM, VSM**, GOC Red shield Division.
The camp will inspire the children of Churachandpur to seek "Peace and Development in unity" .
A Cycle Rally was planned as part of the training schedule for the Cadets on 19 June 2011.The route for the 'Cycle Rally for Peace & Harmony' was designed from Tuibong i.e.HQ 27 Sector Assam Rifles to Thinghat covering approximately a distance of 35 k.m.Fifty young Cadets including nineteen girl cadets with their cycles lined up inside the HQ 27 Sector Assam Rifles complex waiting for the flag to be shown.
The Ceremonial Flagging Off was done by Brig Surendra Mehta, Cdr 27 Sector Assam Rifles and the excitement in the atmosphere could be experienced with the shouting of the cadets.
The day for the Cadets had been planned for outdoor activities and will include a demonstration on Rock Climbing at Thinghat in the evening.
The camp will conclude on 21 June with a camp fire.
The NCC Cadets and the staff are excited to attend the 'Red Shield Peace Camp - 2011' which will offer an excellent opportunity for the cadets of Churachandpur and future potential officers of the Security Forces of different tribes to interact with each other and help promote peace & harmony at the grass root level in the district and will be an enriching experience for the new generation of Churachandpur which will go a long way in fortifying the bond between the Security Forces and the local populace with many more events in the offing.
