Late Robinhood booked for rioting using dangerous weapon

Parents of late Robinhood who was killed in a police action while taking part in a rally alleged that the Porompat police had filed an FIR against their son and the rest of the students who were peacefully demonstrating.
They have been booked under IPC section 147, 148, 149, 353 and 7 criminal law amendment acts -for "rioting by using dangerous weapons" .
In a written complaint submitted to the Director General of Police, the family stated that they shall be constrained to approach Extra-Judicial Execution Victim Families" Association Manipur (EEVFAM) to include the case of Robinhood killing in the forthcoming hearing of Supreme Court of India on August 3 as fake encounter and extra-judicial execution in Manipur.
In the complaint, it was also stated that late Robinhood and his friends were participating in a peaceful rally taken out by a group of 150 students in full uniform.
However, in the FIR signed by Md Salauddin, sub-inspetor of Porompat Police Station, it was stated that they were 400 to 500 unruly mob contradicting the real picture.
Blaming the State Government, Romesh and Babita, the parents also stated that no investigation has been initiated and police have not visited them so far after the incident on July 8, the day they lost their son.
The family also charged the police with firing tear gas shells at their residence while they were mourning for their deceased son.
The written complaint also particularly stated that Robinhood was killed with a rubber bullet.
Further, Robinhood"s parents accused the police of preventing their son"s friends from saving him while he fell on the ground after being hit by a rubber bullet on his left chin.
The complaint also alleged that Robinhood"s death was an avoidable one as he was shot at when only few students were left after dispersing the others.
The family also appeals the government to take up urgent steps in accordance with the law and proceed with a departmental inquiry as there was a prima facie evidence of a death due to police firing.
The complaints also stated that Robinhood died as a result of grievous injuries sustained by police firing and appealed the authorities to file a new and regular FIR against the police officers and Executive Magistrate Imphal East.
