Health Minister L Jayantakumar Singh has said that the General Nurse and Midwifery Training School at Churachandpur will be modernized in tune with the changing times.
Speaking at the lamp lighting and capping ceremony organised after the inauguration of a Skill Lab at the Training School today, the Minister said that the State Government will provide the necessary infrastructure at the earliest.
He added that the role of the nurse in the society is well known to all.
Dedication and sincerity are the most important qualities of a nurse.
The nurses should take care of the patients with love and affection.
Sometimes, they also take the role of a doctor.
Considering all these, nurses have a big responsibility, the Minister asserted.
Minister Jayantakumar said that as long as human civilization exists, malady and illness will be present.
It is the duty of the doctors and nurses to take care of the patients.
People in this profession should maintain professional ethics.
The students who are taking oath today should try to uplift this profession.
' The Nurses should never neglect their duties, he added.
The Minister also inspected the anti-natal care, neo-natal care, nursing station, tutors' room, dining hall, etc, along with the campus of the school.
Speaking as the guest of honour, Agriculture Minister V Hangkhanlian said that nursing is an ideal profession and nurses should possess love and compassion.
He assured that the present Government will try to improve the existing Nursing School.
Speaking at the event as the president, Dr K Rajo, Director, Health, said that the nurses are taking a big role in the healthcare service.
He expressed that the steps taken up by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the field of healthcare is a significant step.
The students also presented a special song as a part of the function.
DC Churachandpur, Shyamlal Poonia, CMO Churachandpur Dr Kimngaihching Simte, Principal of the School, Medical Superintendent Dr Vumchinpau Tonsing and numerous parents also attended the function.
