JAC demands necessary action against IO

The Joint Action Committee of the death of Moirangthem Meghachandra has sought immediate attention of the State Government to take necessary action against Investigating Officer (IO) of Andro PS while claiming that the officer has neglected the grievances of the people in finding out the cause of death of Moirangthem Meghachandra.
Speaking to a team of media persons at Manipur Press Club today, the JAC's convenor Kh Tomchou alleged that, on March 7 this year, an individual acting as the Tangkhul at Nongpok Ningthou Lai Haraoba in Yairipok Top Ching performed a vulgar act/acted inappropriately.
He further alleged that one Moirangthem Meghachandra, s/o M Irabot of Yairipok Top Chingtha, disgusted with the act, allegedly kicked the actor.
Meghachandra was allegedly lynched by a mob, the convenor further claimed.
Following his death, the JAC has repeatedly urged the IO of Andro PS to find the cause of death, however, the officer concerned has neglected the demands of the JAC till date, he alleged.
In order to serve justice to Meghachandra, the JAC has sought the Govt to take up necessary action against the negligence of the IO.
The JAC further urged the authorities concerned to post a suitable officer who will carry out duty diligently, at Andro PS .
The convenor further alleged that the unfortunate incident occured owing to unprofessional behaviour of the Lai Committee while asserting that the JAC demands justice for the unfortunate incident.
