To protect and safeguard our trouble torn state of Manipur is a difficult job and is a big challenge stated the Manipur DGP Y Joykumar.
Speaking at the felicitation function of the various renowned personalities of Uripok, DGP Joykumar said that in order to bring about good administration in a state it is also required to bring about a change in the mindsets and attitude of the people of the society.
To make this possible imparting quality education to the masses is a must.
He further said that even though Uripok constituency lies in the heart of Imphal, it is politically backward.
We should act with a sense of responsibility while electing our own representatives.
On the occasion different renowned personalities of Uripok constituency were felicitated including DGP Y Joykumar, N Koteshwar, Justice, Gauhati High Court, Manipur University VC Prof H Nandakumar Sharma, theatre activist Ratan Thiyam.
The function was graced by MLA L Nandakumar and President UTLWO as the Chief Guest and President respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Ratan Thiyam said that the political and economic scenario of the state is in a complex situation at the moment.
At the same time the impact of globalization is also hitting hard on the society.
There has been a lot of change in the society for the worst.
The disciplines seen in the past generations have completely disappeared.
If we are to live in this complex world with our head held high, our identity needs to be protected.
